Soma Sul expects to close 2018 with a 20% sales increase, higher than 2017. The group, whose parent is located in Chapecó (SC), is one of the biggest industry in industrial coding and food inspection equipment of Brazil, consisting on the companies Soma Sul Equipamentos, Soma Sul RS Equipamentos, Soma Equipamentos Industriais and by Datec Indústria e Comércio de Máquinas.
Soma Sul started its plants operations in the city, in 1999, when it brought exclusive news in the automation and industrial coding fields to the country. The first products traded in Brazil were used for package coding. After, there were the food inspection equipment with the Loma System company partnership – providing metal detectors in meat and x-ray equipment, that reaches all food products types.
“The Brazilian market had no idea of the existing technologies for processed products quality control until Loma came to it. And bringing this new made Soma Sul become a reference on innovation”, explains Gilberto Inácio Dick, company’s Trade Manager.
Nowadays, Soma Sul group counts on more four units established in São Leopoldo (RS), Toledo, Curitiba and Maringá (PR) cities, and on 75 employees, besides more international brands represented: Technomark (micro punching), Cognex (code readers), Gardner Denver (air compressors, vacuum pumps and blowers), Festo and Mitsubishi Electric (industrial automation). Recently, signed partnership for distribution with Graco in the lubricating and special valves Systems line.
For 2019, the expectations are even better for Soma Sul, that believes in various niches to expand its operations. “The automation sector tends to grow even more in the next years, due to the increasingly need for live information. This way, the equipment will be integrated with softwares in companies”, explains Dick, referring to the Industry 4.0 concept introduction in Brazil.
The group also is changing for a new place in Curitiba. “We need more space to enhance the workplaces organization and adapt our loading and unloading areas to our goods movement growth”, explains Gustavo Müller Martins, company’s CEO. In this new location it will be created the company SomaFlux, focused on services and products sales for air compressors, blowers and vacuum pumps. The news will have application in several sector, as the food industry, hospital products, household appliances, etc. “Our strategy for 2019 is to extend our opportunities range to end the next year with a high 25% growth”, concludes the SomaSul’s CEO.
