Metal Work Develops Industrial Automation Technologies with a Focus on Industry 4.0 and Intelligent Connectivity
Metal Work is coming to Intermach 2025 with a proposal to transform industrial processes through integrated industrial automation (IOT, AI), i.e. solutions using vacuum technologies for handling and electric axes, pneumatics, fluids, hydraulics in advanced concepts of connectivity, remote monitoring and predictive analysis.
More than just exhibiting products, Metal Work is offering trade fair visitors the chance to learn about a new way of thinking about and implementing industrial automation, based on data, intelligence and modularity. Its launches and solutions are direct responses to the industry’s current challenges of reducing costs, increasing efficiency, traceability, sustainability and real-time data availability.
The highlight is the EB 80 platform, which is no longer just a valve island but an intelligent modular and digital automation hub, essential for industrial operations that want to scale their processes with safety and performance. EB 80 is the link between traditional automation and the new digital models of Industry 4.0. The platform delivers critical information about automation elements and wear trends in real time. It allows energy consumption and CO2 emissions to be monitored in line with ESG requirements, and connects easily with intelligent sensors and control systems such as PLCs and industrial networks, in a modular concept, allowing customization and expansion according to the needs of each operation.
This structure allows the operation to evolve along the industry’s digital maturity scale, from data transparency (level 1) to predictive intelligence (level 4). This means more control, shorter response times, increased asset availability and, above all, the ability to anticipate failures based on concrete data.
IMPACTS OF AUTOMATION AND CONNECTIVITY ON PRODUCTION
The EB 80 Wireless module is an innovation in industrial monitoring, enabling communication via Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi with the EB 80 platform. This connectivity completely transforms the way operators and maintenance technicians interact with the system. Through the Metal Work EB80Up app, available for Android and iOS, it is possible to access diagnostics in real time, check the number of cycles, alarms and intervention thresholds, as well as monitor the performance of connected actuators, including response times and any delays.
In practice, this means that problems can be detected before they have an impact, facilitating predictive maintenance, avoiding unplanned downtime and increasing operational safety. All this with connectivity, remote access and a user-friendly interface, which makes management even more efficient and intuitive.
MORE ABOUT METAL WORK SOLUTIONS
The new VSH series of low-power hydraulic solenoid valves operates with hydraulic fluid at pressures of up to 315 bar and is pneumatically servo-piloted, allowing the use of coils of just 0.7 watts, operating with 24 vdc direct current; thanks to this new version, hydraulic systems can be integrated into the EB80 platform and monitored in real time. This low-power configuration significantly reduces electrical infrastructure and labor costs, as it allows the electrical coils to be connected directly to the PLC. It is a solution that combines energy efficiency, reduced operating costs and high technical performance, making it ideal for industrial applications that demand robustness with economy.
